Vacation Fun

Hi there,
Well, you all have not heard from me for awhile due to the fact that I escaped to the white, sandy beaches of Destin, Fla. AND . . . guess what . . .NO OIL!!!! W go to Destin every year and absolutely love the emerald green water and white sand AND Ladies, the Outlet Malls. We almost cancelled this year, but decided to go on because we knew they needed the support. I guess we were extremely fortunate that the particular part of the beach that we always go to was as beautiful as ever (Marimar Beach).
If you have never been there, I strongly urge you to do so. It is the closest thing to being in the Carribean that I have seen (duh, guess that is why they call it the "Emerald Coast".
Several of our party went Para Sailing for the first time and had a blast. I stayed in the boat and was the photographer, thought my luck had not been the best lately, so why push my luck?
I hope all of you are having a great summer!

"Another First"

OK, you are probably wondering what type of title is this? Let me explain! The last several years of my life have been primarily based all on "FIRSTS", which I certainly never planned on! I am a creature of habit and like things neat and organized! But . . . one day . . . .that changed forever! I heard those words that no woman wants to hear "You have Breast Cancer". Well, I just knew that it could not be true, so this is when the "Firsts" began.

1. First time to go to 4 doctors in one day, trying to convince them that there must be a mistake, that I was right . . after all, I am always right, just ask my Husband!

2. First time to have an Ultrasound and many other Scans, thought I was going to pass out in the "tunnel".

3. First time to have a "biopsy", and sincerely thought this was a real "operation" that I would be put to sleep for . . .so not true!

4. First time to spend a night in the hospital, after all, I kept telling them that I was very healthy.

5. First time to have ANY type of surgery.

6. First time to have to be wheeled into that COLD operating room. I still think they should knock you out PRIOR to taking you in there.

7. First to begin begging for pain Medicine BEFORE the surgery!

8. First to probably be one of the WORST patients ever!

OK, perhaps by now, you might know that I am connected to the Pretty 'n Pink Program! As a past VP of Sales & Mkt. for many years at DecoArt and dealing with this battle, I really wanted to somehow make a difference and help all the others who struggle with this battle. So, I (along with the wonderful people at DecoArt, developed the "Pretty 'n Pink" Paint Program, with a portion of the proceeds going to Breast Cancer Research). Please go to the WebSite and have a look at the products and wonderful projects that you can actually make yourself. And in case you are wondering if there are any additional "Firsts", there is one more extremely embarrassing to admit . . . this is my FIRST Blog!!! God Bless all of you and as my Oncologist always tells me "Keep the Faith".
